Coinbase Data Breach and Ransom Demands

Coinbase, the largest U.S. cryptocurrency exchange, suffered a data breach affecting nearly 70,000 customers. Hackers accessed sensitive information such as names, phone numbers, emails, government ID images, and partial social security numbers. Although usernames, passwords, and crypto wallets remained secure, the breach increases the risk of phishing and impersonation attacks. Coinbase has offered reimbursement to affected users and is offering a reward to help apprehend the attackers.
