A major cyberattack hit Iran’s largest cryptocurrency exchange, Nobitex, today. The hacktivist group Predatory Sparrow claimed responsibility, stating they sabotaged the exchange’s infrastructure and plan to release its source code and internal data within 24 hours. Nobitex confirmed unauthorized access to its reporting infrastructure and hot wallet, temporarily suspending all access to protect user assets. Blockchain investigators estimate that approximately $81.7 million in digital assets were stolen across multiple blockchains. Nobitex reassured users that all assets are secure and promised compensation for any damages.
